About the Song

The feelings is a rock song written and performed by Morris Albert. The song was released in 1974 as a single, and then it became the title song of the singer's debut album. You can recognize this song from its “whoa whoa whoa” chorus, which shows the inability of a singer to forget love. The original recording of the song was pretty successful, and it made the singer known to the world as the song performed quite well, even on the international stage.

In 1975, the hit single reached 4th position in Record World magazine and 6th position in the Billboard Hot 100. It also made it to 10th position in Cash Box and 2nd position in the Adult Contemporary chart in the USA.

When Feelings was getting critical success all over the world, all the credits of the song were given to and by Alerbt to himself. Then, in 1986, French songwriter Loulou Gasté came into the limelight as he sued Morris Albert for copyright infringement on the basis of claiming that the song Feelings plagiarised the melody of his song Pour Toi, which he wrote in 1956. Gasté was able to win the trial and since 1988, both Morris Albert and him own the credits of this song.
