The reason for shooting in Shillong was to make the population of North-East India back to Hindi films and to highlight the issues that were taking place in those parts of the country. According to the director, the soundtrack provided by Shankar-Eshaan-Loy was pivotal in the development of the film. Shankar composed the music for the movie side by side while Chaudhari worked on the script.
