Namastey London translates to Greetings London is a 2007 Bollywood flick directed and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The movie had some of the cream of Bollywood actors such as Rishi Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Nina Wadia, Javed Sheikh and others. The story which is depicted in the movie is from one of the close friends of Akshay Kumar who himself is an actor and also made a cameo in the film. Yes, it is none other than Ritesh Deshmukh.
When the movie was released back in 2007, it got positive reviews from most of the critics; people praised the screenplay, direction, and especially the soundtrack, which was highly acclaimed at that time. You might be surprised to hear this, but the whole album was composed by Himesh Reshammiya. Main Jahaan Rahoon performed pretty well on multiple radio stations, making the rest of the album a chartbuster as well. The movie saw a good box office success as it earned 74.10 cores worldwide, thus becoming the 9th highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2007.
The first half of the movie was shot on the northside of Punjab, while the second half of the moon was shot in a few places in London. At the same time, the movie was being shot in more than 50 different locations all across the UK. You can find a number of historical landmarks in the movie.
