Main Wo Chaand is a song recorded for the movie Tera Surroor; you might be surprised to hear that Himesh Reshammiya is not the singer for this song; he was actually in front of the camera for this one and even for the whole movie. He was the music director of the song, but the voice behind the lyrics was of Darshan Raval. The movie Tera Surroor was released in 2016, in which Himesh played the main role alongside Farah Karimaee and others. The movie was directed by Shawn Arranha, and it was produced by Vipin Reshammiya along with Sonia Kapoor.
Now here comes an interesting fact which a lot of people might not know, but this is the second film, a sequel to Aap Ka Suroor which was released in 2007. The film was a joint production of T-Series, and HR Musik Limited. Apart from the lead actors, some of the famous Bollywood actors that were part of this film are Naseeruddin Shah, Shekhar Kapur, Kabir Bedi, and Monica Dogra who played supporting roles.
The plot of Tera Surroor was loosely based on the 2010 Hollywood flick The Next Three Days, which again was a remake of a French film by the name Anything for Her. Before the movie was released, Himesh did a lot of touring across India for the promotion of the film. He performed live in Amsterdam, Pune, Kolkata, New Delhi and other places. The lead female actor also visited Ajmer Sharif Dargah to offer prayers for the success of the movie. But all their efforts were of no use as the film did not perform too well at the box office. According to Shawn Arraha, the movie was able to break even from the official music, which was directed by Himmesh Reshammiya, but at the box office, it was the last time we saw Himesh in the lead role.
